Physician's Formula Natural pH Matchmaker Blush Review, Photos and Swatches!

Physician's Formula pH Matchmaker Natural Blush

Physician's Formula came out with a bunch of new products for the new year, including a whole new line called "pH Matchmaker". What is basically is, is makeup that adapts to the pH - or body chemistry of your skin. Once the makeup is applied, within one minute it will adapt to your skin. As far as I know, there are a couple of blushes, bronzers and lip glosses in the line.

Have you heard of MAC Matchmaster Foundation or Smashbox O-Gloss? Pretty much the same concept. It's basically a product that will work with your individual skin - and may or may not look the same on you as it does on your friend. It's kind of like your own "custom" match. For more information and before & after photos, check out the Physician's Formula site (here).

I wasn't too interested in trying out another bronzer or lipgloss, but I was very interested in trying out the blush. There are two shades of blush in total: Natural and Rose. Rose was actually sold out at my CVS, so I picked up Natural.

Natural is a vibrant, warm watermelon pink with a satin finish.

ADDITIONAL PRODUCT DETAILS:
-1st Ever Blush with pH Power Complex transforms into your perfectly personalized hue.
-Fluorescein Based Dye-senses the pH level of your skin & adjusts within 60 seconds to create your perfect blushing glow.
-Photochronic Powders-light adjusting pigments adapt to your environment so color looks the same indoors & outside.

One thing that's flippin' amazing about this blush, as well as all of the pH Matchmaker products, is they all are equipped with LED lights! I can't even begin to tell you how handy it is having a lighted compact mirror for touch ups at night. Especially for those who don't have a vanity mirror in their car.

I'm not sure if you can spot it in the photo, but there is a tiny switch above the light on the right-hand side. You simply slide it up to turn the light off, and slide it down to turn it back off before closing the compact.

It's the classic style of Physician's Formula packaging - the blush pan lifts up, revealing a small compartment that houses a flat brush.

With most (okay, all) of the other PF products I own, the blushes are scratchy and useless. This brush is actually a step up from those brushes. It's still slightly scratchy, but completely usable and 100X better than the brushes included with their bronzers, happy boosters, etc.

So, the actual performance of the product. Although it does sound a little gimmicky - I'm a huge fan of this particular blush. I don't really notice any changes of the blush a minute after it's been applied - on my skin at least, it's pretty true to what to you see in the pan.

It's a lovely, flattering shade that brightens up my face. It's actually a perfect spring/summer shade!

What I have to say most impressed me about this blush is the wear time. It is said to last for 14 hours, and although I can't say I've worn it for 14 hours, after 8 hours, my blush is still as vibrant as it looked when it was first applied. That's pretty difficult to say about any blush. I wouldn't doubt for a moment that it wouldn't last a few hours more. A definite A+ for wear time!

Want to score this blush for $10 less? CVS is currently (till the 3rd?) having a sale on Physician's Formula products. If you purchase $10 of PF products, you'll receive $7 extra-cash at checkout. Also, at my CVS, there was $3 OFF coupons stuck to most of the PF pH products that you can use at check-out. The blush was $12.99, minus the $3 coupon, making the blush $9.99. With using your CVS card, $7 extra-cash will print out, making this blush $3!

What'd you think? Pretty cool product, huh? Have you tried anything from this line?

    1. Same for me! It's so inconvenient to not have a lighted mirror in the car. When I need to touch-up my makeup, I use my phones flashlight.. LOL way too bright.

      TY so much! :)

    1. Isn't it awesome!? I've been looking for a LED light compact, and haven't been able to find one that's not crazy expensive and one that isn't incredibly cheaply made and will break in a day. haha This solved my problem.

    1. LOL! That made me laugh. I totally am! I can never find good deals anywhere like I do at CVS. According to the types of items you purchase, you will receive coupons for those items (if you purchase l'oreal cosmetics, the next time you go, a coupon for a few dollars off l'oreal might print out, etc) in conjunction with manufacturer coupons and extra-cash, it's like stealing! LOL

  26. I was so exited not only because i need a pink blush but also because the good review you gave. And let me tell you this is not only cheaper but it gave me a better shade than the styla coustom color blush ( who basically is the same idea and about $20).and loving the lights. It gave such a nice color that my mom actually went today to get it! super pigmented and just suit perfectly!
thanks you so much ,excellent review congrats!

  27. Love this, it looks great on you! I am tempted to check this out. Quick question for you though, how comparable is it to the PF Happy Booster blush in Natural? I already have that one and I don't want it to be too similar.

    Thanks!
