What's your favorite brand for make-up remover wipes?
Over the course of the past month or so, I went on an experiment trying a handful of different makeup remover/cleansing towelettes to see which is the best. My results didn't surprise me, as the most effective wipes still turned out to be my top choice from the past few years; The Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleaning Towelettes, $4.74, Target.I was really curious to see what all of your favorites are, so I created a poll that lasted a little over a week asking which brand is your favorite from some of the main brands you can find at drugstore (with the exception of MAC).
The results are...
Neutrogena - 78 votes (34%)E.L.F. - 9 votes (3%)
Olay - 8 votes (3%)
MAC - 27 votes (11%)
Ponds - 21 votes (9%)
Aveeno - 8 votes (3%)
Equate - 14 votes (6%)
Other - 63 votes (27%)
This poll is based on 228 participants.
The majority voted for Neutrogena, but it didn't win by a landslide. The runners up was actually other brands not mentioned. I'd love to know for those of you who who voted "Other", which brand would you choose to be your favorite?
Are makeup wipes a must-have in your bathroom, or do you only rely on your cleanser?
Do you have any ideas for questions in the weekly poll? Let me know in the comments!
I have to have wipes...I'm terrible at actually washing my face so I have to use them at night. My favorite are MAC but they're too expensive. I used to use (and like) Walgreen's brand. Latley I'm using Yes to Cucumbers because I was looking for something more natural. They're not the best, but they work fine. I always use separate eye makeup remover cause I haven't found a wipe that can handle waterproof mascara and eyeliner without making a mess.
ReplyDeleteIn Canada you can get Balea wipes (Shopper's Drugmart house brand) for pretty cheap. They go on sale often for $9.99 for 120 wipes. I find they take off most waterproof makeup and they don't sting my sensitive eyes. I have acne prone skin so I only use these if i literally can't keep my eyes open a second longer before bed. The best option for your skin is not wipes but the french pharmacy brand: Bioderma sensibio H2O micellar cleansing water. Just pour some on a large cotton pad and swipe - no need to rinse with water. It doesn't leave any residue, its effective, and feels like gentle water. The ingredients are very good. I highly recommend it!
ReplyDeleteI use both wipes and cleansers from The Body Shop :)
ReplyDeleteGreat poll. I like dollar kind
ReplyDeleteI like the CVS brand's version of the Pond's nighttime makeup removing wipes. They are very wet and seem to take off most of my makeup. Plus they are pretty cheap.
ReplyDeleteThe Soap and Glory ones are pretty good too (:

I always wonder what others use. I keep meaning to buy the wipes for nights that I'm too lazy to wash my face, but they always land on the bottom of my list. Maybe I'll try the neutrogena ones soon.
ReplyDeleteI didn't take part in this survey but Simple Makeup wipes are good, they do them in all different sorts :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Target brand, Up & Up, best for makeup remover wipes. I find that they work SOO much better than the Neutrogena brand!
ReplyDeleteI didn't vote but I really like the Garnier makeup wipes and the Simple ones. So far those are the only ones that don't sting my eyes and are still moist and get my makeup off. I can't compare them to the Neutrogena ones though since I haven't tried those out yet.
ReplyDeleteI love Equate and CVS Brand. I find they remove makeup far better than the MAC wipes. However, the MAC wipes are slightly more moisturizing.
ReplyDeleteThe BOOTS cucumber wipes are soooo effective in removing all traces of makeup! I love the scent too! :)

great poll! I've tried so many makeup wipes. some are ok some not very good at all so it's good to see what ppl like. I personally really like regular unscented baby wipes. the ones that are geared towards makeup are either too dry for me, too scented or don't do the job. xx. gigi. food and beauty blogger @ www.gigikkitchen.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThe Costco ones are great... You get a lot in a box, and they give you travel size wipes too...They remove well long lasting foundations like Double wear from EL, Revlon Colorstay, Lancôme Ultra Wear...
ReplyDeleteI always have wipes for those nights I've been out and I'm too tired to use my regular cleanser but that's the only time I use them!
ReplyDeleteI've always tried many brands but was often left disappointed by the burning sensation that I would still have to run to the bathroom to rinse it off which ceased the point of the wipes in the first place. Finally, I tried the Equate ones! They are super cheap, bring 2 packs, won't dry out & most importantly, won't irritate my face no matter how hard I scrub! You just HAVE to try them!
ReplyDeleteI love the neutrogena pink grapefruit wipes and the ponds nighttime wipes. They are both inexpensive and leave my face clean and refreshed. One possible weekly poll topic- which fall trend do you like better, berry lip or peacock eye
ReplyDeleteI use both cleanser and wipe to remove makeups, normally I use Neutrogena because it can go for the deep skin.
