Chanel Santal and Ming Rouge Allure Laque
Like mentioned, there are only eight shades available: Coromandel, Imperial, Dynastie, Dragon, Ming, Santal, Phoenix and Mandarin. The two most wearable shades are Santal and Ming, which is why I chose both!
**NOTE** I purchased product TESTERS. So the packaging will differ when purchased at a counter. Click HERE to view more details on the Chanel website.

I originally became really interested in these lip lacquers from Christine of Temptalia. She mentioned on a few occasions that one of her favorite products of all time is Chanel's Lip Laque in the shade Dragon. After reading a little more information on the lip products, they sounded amazing. After digging out swatches of each of the shades, and seeing how creamy and opaque they look, I had to give a couple a try.
Santal is a warm, rosy peach with a very subtle golden shimmer. On my natural lips, the color appears a little more orange, but when I calm my lips down with a little concealer or MAC Lip Erase, the color looks more rosy. I think it's a fabulous every day shade for just about every skintone.
Ming is a medium neutral pink with fine shimmer. I find it difficult to wear certain undertones of pink without looking too unnatural, but this pink works well with my skintone. With one swipe, it gives a "My lips but better" natural pink flush.
I absolutely love the formula of the lip glosses. They are completely opaque with a few swipes, aren't thick or sticky, are moisturizing, have a shiny finish and has pretty average lasting power on the lips. The biggest set back is the price at $32. It's completely up to you if you think it's worth it or not, but I do think they are fantastic and worth testing out at your local counter.
What do you think of these? Do you own any?
Ming is super gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMing is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBoth are pretty! I have Dragon, it's such a gorgeous red :D
ReplyDeleteI love ming
ReplyDeleteMing looks gorgeous on your lips, really natural. I’d love to try these but unfortunately in Australia they retail for close to $60 which is just ridiculous to pay for a lip gloss. And buying them online, like you said, it’s risky as to whether you’ll get the authentic item or not. So for now I’ll just admire from afar
ReplyDeleteI love the packaging, actually! Chanel makeup just makes my heart pitter patter :) Ming looks lovely on you!
ReplyDeletewhere did you buy these testers?
ReplyDeletei feel like the odd man out cause i'm loving santal! beautiful shade and looks great on you =)

omg I want Santal :)
ReplyDeleteThese colors look great! Both are colors I tend to gravitate to anyway but the formula, at least from your photos, look very moisturizing and shiny, but not glossy...perfect for any ocassion. Will definitely have to take a look at my local Chanel counter. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Ming! Looks like a nice, everyday colour (in my books at least!).
ReplyDeleteThese both look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSantal looks much more peachy-pink on me. Really natural looking and beautiful! I wore it in my graduation photo :)
ReplyDeleteI love these! I have dragon and ming and I need more :)
ReplyDeleteI have Ming and it is gorgeous!! I only buy straight from the Chanel website (or Macy's, Nordstrom, Neiman's online carry Chanel) because I have heard of fakes. Your colors seem true to what I have seen -- they both look great on you!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss? They are some of my faves, along with the Glossimers.
I saw these recently at the Chanel counter and fell in love with them! Seeing them on here has just confirmed that I am going to have to buy one! Ming is beautiful! x
