Guerlain Pink Clip (461) Maxi Shine Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches!

Guerlain Pink Clip (461) Maxi Shine Lipgloss

Guerlain Pink Clip (461) Maxi Shine Lipgloss

Guerlain Pink Clip (461) Maxi Shine Lipgloss ($30, 0.25 oz) is a iridescent warm, light pink. Another light pink? I know. It's just one of those things that is pure eye candy to me when I see it on the shelf at Sephora, and no matter how many I own, I'm always going to be craving more. So when I spotted this on the Guerlain display and swatched the buttery gloss on the back of my hand; among the 20 other product swatches that occupy my hand every trip to a makeup counter or store, I quickly shuffled through the fresh boxes behind the samples and chucked one in my basket. As simple as that.

I can say that every brand is my favorite, but Guerlain has a special place in my heart and if money grew on trees, I'd have a lot more Guerlain in my makeup stash (among all of the other high-end brands of course).

You can feel the luxury of the product upon application - it feels so silky and creamy on the lips, and it keeps my lips moisturized and feeling plump. Stickiness? Pfft.. Not even. And the sponge applicator is really nice too. It's pretty large, flat and slanted, so it eliminates the need for continuously re-dipping the applicator for more product. Just one dip, and you're good.

Now if it's worth the $30 price tag, that's completely up to you. All I know is that I'm loving this gloss, and it has righteously earned a spot in my favorites.

MAC Angel Tinted Lipglass Review, Photos, Swatches!

MAC Angel Tinted Lipglass

MAC Angel Tinted Lipglass

MAC Angel Tinted Lipglass ($15, 0.17 oz) is a light/medium warm pink with silver micro-shimmer. It has a slightly frosty or pearl-like finish much like MAC Angel Lipstick. Although this gloss has a warm pink base, the pearly sheen neutralizes the warmness a bit, so it's a really wearable pink that a variety of skintones can wear. I find that it suits my warm, medium skin really well.

If you aren't familiar with MAC Lipglasses, the formula is pretty thick and sticky (not everyones cup of tea), but I don't entirely mind it. When you apply a good coat of lip balm first, the formula feels a bit better on the lips. All of the lipglass colors differ in pigmentation, but Angel has a nice opaque coverage. It looks nice on it's own, but I find that it sometimes has a tendency to settle in my lip lines (not horrible like some, but still notable). It also looks really nice applied over top similar colored pink lipsticks.

Chanel Amour (166) Glossimer Review, Photos, Swatches!

Chanel Amour Glossimer

Chanel Amour Glossimer

Chanel Amour Glossimer ($29.50) is a vibrant coral pink with fine multi-colored shimmer. This color in my eyes is the definition of Spring/Summer, and is a fabulous shade to rock all season long. Much like Chanel Sourire Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick (in my previous post), it's a great color for those with warm, golden undertones and will brighten the face instantly. The coverage is light but buildable, and pairs really well on top of any pink, peach or coral lipstick and it also looks great all on it's own.

Chanel Glossimers is one of my favorite formulas of lipgloss (alongside NARS and Bobbi Brown). The formula isn't thick and pasty, nor is it thin and watery. It's perfectly in the middle where you'd want it to be. It's thick enough to where it will adhere to your lips and last for several hours, and when you rub your lips together they will feel silky smooth and glossy - no stickiness what-so-ever. They are also packed with shine as most of the shades contain tiny particles of shimmer so your lips will glisten.

Also, this is one of the few lip products that I can get away with without having to moisturize my lips prior - it will keep them hydrated for however long I have it on my lips, and even a little while after.

If I had to choose, Bagatelle is definitely my favorite glossimer. It's like a softer version of Amour.

Estee Lauder Pure Color High Intensity Lip Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches!

Estee Lauder Pure Color High Intensity Lip Lacquer

Estee Lauder Pure Color High Intensity Lip Lacquer ($25) is described as a full-impact liquid lipstick with high lacquer shine. This new collection of Lacquers is part of Estee Lauder's Fall '13 Metallics Collection that is centered around highly reflective and glass-like finishes for multi-dimesional color. So, if you're looking for a product with loads of color and a high gloss shine, these are it! The formula is also creamy and hydrating with a blend of Vitamins C, E and Conditioners. Available in (12) shades.

Liquid Petal is a medium-dark neutral peach with a hint of pink. It also has a some flecks of very subtle shimmer.

Chrome Kimono is a cool, medium rosy pink with bright pink shimmer.

Fuchsia Flash is a bright blue pink with purple and pink iridescent shimmer.

Hot Cherry is a true cherry red with shimmer. It's a beautiful holiday red that will flatter all skin tones.

Ruby Glow is a deep black cherry with no shimmer.

Electric Wine is a deep ripened plum with shimmer.

The consistency of these lip lacquers are really thick - maybe somewhat comparable to MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass, but they aren't at all sticky. Because of the consistency, sometimes adding a lip balm prior can help add a bit of slip to your lips for these lacquers to glide across, as you might find that you'll need to re-dip your wand a couple of times. Luckily, but you don't have to apply much for full-on color. They are opaque with one coat.

L'Oreal Violet Attitude Colour Riche Le Gloss Review, Photos, Swatches!

L'Oreal Violet Attitude Colour Riche Le Gloss

L'Oreal Violet Attitude Colour Riche Le Gloss

L'Oreal Violet Attitude Colour Riche Le Gloss ($8) is a rosy-magenta with a pearly sheen and a glossy finish. Colour Riche Le Gloss is infused with ultra-hydrating Omega 3, protective Vitamin E, and Argan Oil for intense moisture and shine. You can wear these glosses alone or layered over your favorite lipstick. Le Gloss is available in 16 sensual shades from deep plum to crystal clear.

If you're looking for a really saturated with color gloss, these aren't going to be it. There are many bright and fun colors, but the color payoff is on the sheer side. I've seen swatches where they look really pigmented, but on the lips, many of them appear the same. I think they're great for the Summer though, or just about any time you're going for the a natural glossy lip.

They have a fruity, sort-of vanilla scent - and normally I don't care for scents in my lip products, but I don't feel that the scent of these cheapen the product or turn them into "kiddy" glosses. I kinda like it.

Also, I really like the simple name of the lipgloss. Le Gloss or The Gloss in French just has a bit of a high-end ring to it. (You can put French words on anything and it sounds expensive, right?) The lipglosses also have a really slim, squeeze-tube design which is super lightweight, and perfect for your pocket or bag.

I think these lip glosses are great, but truthfully, I don't think there is much that sets them apart from the rest. I love the packaging, the moisturizing feel and the glossiness, but I just prefer something with either longer staying power or bolder color. I really like the color I chose, but I probably won't be purchasing additional shades. (Don't quote me on this though, I tend to buy on impulse.)

Rain Cosmetics Tropical Storm Color Storm Lip Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches!

Rain Cosmetics Tropical Storm Color Storm Lip Lacquer

Rain Cosmetics Tropical Storm Color Storm Lip Lacquer

Rain Cosmetics Tropical Storm Color Storm Lip Lacquer ($20) is a medium raspberry pink with cool undertones. It has mostly opaque coverage with a glossy finish. I think it's a universally flattering shade and is perfect for a little extra pop of color without being super bold. I love wearing it on it's own, and I also love it paired with MAC Chatterbox Lipstick (which is similar in color) when I want a fuller coverage.

The texture is very smooth and has a hydrating, balm-lip feel on the lips. It contains Antioxidants, Jojoba and Vitamin E to keep the lips feeling soft as long as it's on. It's not thick, runny or sticky and wears really comfortably. When initially applied, the color is opaque, but upon wear, it settles down into a medium coverage. It wears down after a few hours and leaves a light rosy-pink hue behind on my lips.

It has a light fruity scent, but nothing obnoxious and it goes away upon application.

Rain Cosmetics is a Las Vegas based makeup line created for the modern and glamorous woman with a busy, on-the-go lifestyle. Recognizing the need for lightweight, long-wearing, moisture-rich formulas, Rain Cosmetics created a product line that lasts flawlessly all day into the night with little-to-no touch ups. I was introduced to Rain Cosmetics recently by my friend Makeup by Lacy and was so excited to see the brand in-person on my recent trip to Las Vegas. It's a great brand, and I'll be sharing with you some of their other products in the upcoming week.

Bobbi Brown Bellini High Shimmer Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches!

Bobbi Brown Bellini High Shimmer Lipgloss

Bobbi Brown Bellini High Shimmer Lipgloss

Bobbi Brown Bellini High Shimmer Lipgloss ($24) is a sheer, nude-pink with bright pink & golden-white shimmer and a glossy finish. Because it's sheer, it only provides a light wash of shimmering, tinged-pink color to the lips. The result is beautiful, natural and won't overpower your look. It's a great Summer gloss.

The consistency gets an A+ from me - it feels silky smooth and moisturizing on the lips. Despite the shimmer, you can't really feel it. It's not thick, runny or sticky. Just perfect.

It has a hint of mint, so it leaves the lips with a light cooling sensation when first applied.

The lasting power is quite good. I typically get around 2-3 hours of wear from it.

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lipglosses have been raved about from many bloggers - one including Temptalia, who recommends and loves these as some of her go-to lipglosses. I can totally see why!

MAC Patience Please Pro Longwear Lipglass Review, Photos, Swatches!

MAC Patience Please Pro Longwear Lipglass

MAC Patience Please Pro Longwear Lipglass

MAC Patience Please Pro Longwear Lipglass ($20) is milky pink-beige with a lustrous finish. It's a part of MAC's Pro Longwear line, so it will last much longer on the lips compared to a standard lipgloss. I love light lip colors, but I rarely wear nude lip colors alone as with my warm coloring, they tend to take color away from my face. Patience Please despite being super light, is actually a flattering nude on my skintone as the color leans a bit warm.

The consistency of the Pro Longwear Lipglasses are very thick and tacky - a bit similar to MAC Dazzleglass and just a tad bit thicker/stickier than their regular Lipglass. So for those of you that don't like wearing sticky glosses, this one may not be your first choice, but keep in mind that the thick texture is what helps the gloss last so long without fading.

The only downfall about the texture is that if your lips are dry, the gloss is a bit difficult to apply evenly. And, if you apply too much, excess gloss gathers on the inside of the lips. For even coverage, applying an emollient lipbalm (I like using a squeeze tube balm opposed to a stick balm) will help. I sometimes even like applying over the lipgloss to cut down the stickiness.

The lasting power is really good. It absolutely lasts longer than most of my other lip glosses. Most lip glosses don't stick around for more than two hours - I can sometimes push an extra hour out of Chanel Glossimers, but I think the standard is a couple of hours. This lipgloss lasts at least 4 hours with a little fading. It will transfer if you're drinking from a cup (it's not bullet-proof) but I'm still left with a little color on my lips after drinking a coffee or eating a meal. I actually like the color a bit better once it settles in and isn't so opaque.

Estee Lauder Hot Fuse and Pure Rose Pure Color Sheer Rush Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Sheer Rush Lipgloss

Estee Lauder Pure Color Sheer Rush Lipgloss

The new Spring 2013 Estee Lauder Cello Shots Pure Color Collection is all about playful and bright colors delivered in sheer, lightweight formulas that will keep the skin fresh and glowing all day. Tom Pecheux, the Creative Makeup Director at Estee Lauder says, "This season, I’ve been working a lot with what I call “acqua color”. It’s a gentle, watery look with just a touch of bright, vibrant color."

Estee Lauder Pure Color Sheer Rush Lipgloss ($24) is described as a "cellophane-sheer" gloss that brings a super-sheer rush of vibrant color to the lips with a high shine finish. It's moisturizing and long lasting.

Available in (6) limited edition shades: Pink Patent, X-Pose Rose, Plexi Pink, Hot Fuse, Techno Jam and Poppy Shock.

The two colors I'll be talking about are Hot Fuse, which is a bright cherry red and Pure Rose, a vibrant grape.

Some companies tend to "embellish" the product claims to make their product sound wonderful, but refreshingly, I found the description to be dead-on.

These glosses are super-sheer and tint the lips with vibrant, transparent color. The finish is very glossy, so it almost gives a watery, juicy look to the lips. It almost looks like a very mild stain with a clear gloss on top.

The formula is amazing. It doesn't settle in my lip lines or accentuate dryness and it even makes my lips appear slightly fuller. It's very silky and feels wonderful on. It has a glossy, balm-lip texture on the lips, so when I'm wearing it, I often rub my lips together to be reminded of the softness. No lip balm is necessary, just this lipgloss and I'm good to go.

NYX Apple Strudel Butter Gloss Review, Photos and Swatches!

NYX Apple Strudel Butter Gloss

NYX Apple Strudel Butter Gloss

I don't go to ULTA as often as I use to, but when I do I always make sure to stop by the NYX section (I feel like I just quoted a Dos Equis commercial.. ha!) On my recent trip, I was excited to see a few products that I didn't recognize that are new for 2013.

NYX Butter Glosses ($5) are a new line-up of lipglosses that are described as providing a sheer to medium coverage without feeling sticky. NYX makes some awesome lip glosses (especially their extreme lip creams and megashine lip glosses) and as usual, they come in a great variety of my kind of shades (pinks galore!)

NYX Butter Glosses are available in (12) shades: Strawberry Parfait, Eclair, Peaches and Cream, Merengue, Creme Brule, Peach Cobbler, Tiramisu, Apple Strudel, Vanilla Cream Pie, Cherry Cheesecake, Maple Blondie and Cherry Pie.

Naturally, I chose a light coral shade called Apple Strudel. It provides enough coverage to be worn alone, but if you want opaque coverage you may want to layer it over a lipstick. I find that if I apply more than one layer it feels too thick and gooey on my lips, so one layer is all I need.

It feels super moisturizing on the lips and has pretty decent lasting power - similar to the Megashine Lipglosses.

They're unfortunately scented, but it's not a scent that bothers me. It smells sweet, and reminds me of strawberries and cream.

NYX Glam Lipgloss Aqua Luxe in the shades Paint the Town, I'm Coming Out and Glitter Dreams Review, Photos and Swatches!

NYX Glam Gloss Aqua Luxe

NYX Glam Lipgloss Aqua Luxe

NYX Glam Lipgloss Aqua Luxe ($6) is a newer line of super shimmery, glitter lipglosses with just a hint of color. They can be worn alone or layered over your favorite lipstick to enhance your lip color and add lots of shine.

NYX Glam Lipgloss Aqua Luxe are available in (11) shades:  I'm Coming Out, Do the Hustle, Beat Goes On, Glitter Dreams, High Society, Disco Playground, VIP, Paint the Town, Underground Boogie, The Last Party and Velvet Ropes.

The majority of the shades are pink toned with the exception of a couple beige/gold shades. I ended up getting three shades that I thought would look good topped over some of my favorite pink lipsticks.

The consistency of these glosses is thin, yet fairly creamy and comfortable on the lips. They are non-sticky, tacky or heavy feeling on the lips. Glitter glosses can tend to feel gritty on the lips, but I didn't have a problem with these. The shade Glitter Dreams contains the most shimmer of the three glosses I purchased, and you could feel the glitter when you rub your lips together, but it's not bad by any means.

The applicator is large, narrow and flat (love!!) so it scoops up the perfect amount of product, so you won't have to double dip for additional product.

I'm Coming Out is a medium toned cool pink with golden shimmer. It looks pretty on it's own, but since it's so sheer, I prefer wearing it over a similar pink or fuschia colored lipstick.

Paint the Town is a soft coral with subtle golden shimmer. It's the least gritty of the three because it contains the least shimmer. It looks really pretty topped over coral, warm pink and peach lipsticks. (See below where I paired it with MAC Cut a Caper Lipstick)

Glitter Dreams is a reddened raspberry with tons of multi-colored glitter. It's the flashiest of three, and if you love lots of shimmer, this is your gloss. When worn alone it makes my lips look a bit more berry pink toned, shiny and a bit fuller. I think this will pair well with any medium or dark shades of pink, plum - even red!

Chanel Jalousie Glossimer Review, Photos and Swatches!

Chanel Jalousie Glossimer

Chanel Jalousie Glossimer

When you're looking for a picker upper, what's better than indulging in sparkly and needless material things? Or maybe taking a stroll through Godiva or See's Candy for a piece of ridiculously overpriced, yet completely delicious chocolate. I like browsing the Chanel counter, and that's how I came across this little gem. Absolutely necessary? Absolutely not. Gorgeous? You bet.

Chanel Jalousie Glossimer ($29.50) is a vibrant pink with a purple pearl. You could also call it a glistening fuchsia. (Jalousie means Jealousy in French, btw!) This shade launched in the Roses Ultimes De Chanel Collection earlier in the year. As far as I know, it's limited edition, but is still available online.

If I was rolling in money bags, I'd love to own every shade of this angelic gloss, but for now I only own a few, and I don't wear them daily because they are just that precious.

Glossimers differ in terms of color payoff, some are sheer, but Jalousie is opaque with one swipe. As it wears down, the color sheers up slightly, but it still provides full on color.

It of course looks great on it's own, and it pairs really well with other pink lipsticks to make them a little brighter and pinker. You could also layer it over a similar fuchsia lipstick, such as MAC Lickable Lipstick or MAC Girl About Town for an intense pink lip.

NYX Nude Pink Megashine Lip Gloss Review, Photos and Swatches!

nyx nude pink

NYX Nude Pink Megashine Lip Gloss

NYX Nude Pink Megashine Lip Gloss ($5.50) is a creamy, soft neutral pink. The color is soft on my lips, but it's not really what I'd describe as "nude". It's light, but it doesn't wash me out. It's pigmented enough to wear alone, and it looks amazing when paired with any pink lipstick.

NYX Megashine Lipglosses are one of my favorite, if not my favorite line of drugstore lip glosses for several reasons - there is a huge selection of pretty every day colors, the formula is pigmented (although some shades can be sheerer than others), they are non-sticky, feel great on the lips and are inexpensive.

One of the downsides about NYX Megashine Lipglosses are that the tube can sometimes get messy. I've owned several Megashine Lipglosses, and I've had some overflow. You can see in the main photo how much gloss has gathered around the top of the tube. I like to clean the inside handle of the wand applicator with a q-tip once I notice a lot of product gathering and it helps.

Also, they are scented like cherries. Some love it, some hate it. I don't really mind it. Kinda wish it was scent-free, but it doesn't stop me from purchasing them.

NYX Absolute Red Xtreme Lip Cream Review & Photos!

nyx absolute red

NYX Absolute Red Xtreme Lip Cream

NYX Absolute Red Xtreme Lip Cream ($5.99) is an opaque cherry/blood red lip color with a glossy finish. NYX Xtreme Lip Creams are a lipgloss/lipstick hybrid as the product is completely opaque with one coat, yet it has the texture and shine of a gloss. I'd compare the pigmentation to OCC Lip Tars, though these are much more moisturizing.

Absolute Red is such a perfect, sexy shade of red, and I can't imagine it looking bad on anyone. It looks like a "Snow White" red with one coat and if I blot my lips with a tissue, it takes on a bright raspberry color (which is essentially what it fades to on me). With two coats, it takes on a deeper red-wine shade. It's kind of like a chameleon..

The first ingredient in this gloss is Castor Oil, so if you're familiar with it, you can imagine the consistency. It's thick and moisturizing, yet it's completely non-sticky/tacky or greasy. Also, if you're familiar with the scent of Castor Oil, that's what the gloss smells like - kind of woody/plastic-like, but I don't even notice it anymore.

The lasting power is just as really good - the red in particular is still on my lips after several hours (although it will fade slightly).
