OCC Lip Tars Now Available at Sephora.com!

OCC Lip Tars Now @ Sephora.com

OCC at Sephora!? What a lovely surprise! And what is that pictured next to the tube? A lip brush? Sweet!

For all of you Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics lovers out there, starting at the beginning of this week, Sephora is now carrying the full line of Lip Tars on the Sephora website and in-store at select Sephora locations. Now you can gain some Beauty Insider points each time you purchase a Lip Tar!

For those of you that don't know what Lip Tars are, they are the most pigmented lip colors on the market. They combine the color and longevity of a lipstick with the application of a gloss. They dry down to a matte finish (which I find a bit drying, so I always mix them with some clear gloss). They are highly popular among the online makeup community as well as makeup artists all over the world.

OCC Lip Tars have come a long way since their original launch a few years back in 2009 starting out with a range of 12 fairly basic colors, to the now selection of 40 amazing shades.

OCC Lip Tars have had a few packaging makeovers over the years, and a price increase along with them. Originally, the lip tars were 10 ml for $12.50. Then the tubes were downsized to 8 ml with the same $12.50 price tag, then they increased slightly to $13, and now with their new packaging design they are back to the original 10 ml, but are now $16 each.

Sleek Milkshake and Minx Pout Paint Review, Swatches and Comparison to OCC Lip Tars!

sleek pout paints review

Sleek Milkshake & Minx Pout Paint

Sleek Pout Paint ($6.49) is an intense lip pigment, with the consistency of a lipgloss, and the pigmentation and finish of a lipstick.

Sleek Pout Paints are available in (11) shades: Minx, Cloud 9, Mauve Over, Lava, Peachy Keen, Rosette, Port, Pinkini, Milkshake, Peek-a-Bloo and Pin up.

I got my hands on two of the shades; Milkshake and Minx. Milkshake is a vibrant coral-pink and Minx is a neutral beige-pink.

Sleek Pout Paints launched at around this time last year, and I remember when everyone was talking about them and comparing them to the very similar OCC Lip Tars. I love my OCC Lip Tars, but admittedly, I reach for my traditional lipsticks before my lip tars because they are more convenient to use.

Sleek Pout Paints and OCC Lip Tars alike need to be applied with a lip brush because the color is so opaque, you only need a small drop to coat your lips. If you don't own a lip brush, you can use any small brush (concealer brush, etc) or the wand of one of your lipglosses.

OCC Hush, Divine and Trick Lip Tars Review and Swatches!

OCC Divine, Trick and Hush Lip Tars

For a brief review, Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tars are ultra-pigmented lip colors that combine the opaque pigment of a lipstick with the ease and application of a lipgloss. In fact, they are so pigmented that you can't apply them directly from the tube. For the best results, the use of a lip brush (or your finger) is needed. They feel incredibly light on the lips, and are comfortable to wear. There is a large selection of colors, which are meant to be mixed to create your own unique lip color!

After trying out my first Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tar in the shade Cha Cha a few months back, I knew I wanted to purchase more shades. So, like I mentioned in my haul post this past Wednesday, I caved in and purchased three more lip tars. I chose shades that don't require mixing and would be practical for every day.

After going through countless swatches of lip tars via google, I decided on Trick, Hush and Divine.

Trick is a light-medium, neutral peach-beige with a hint of pink-brown.
Hush is a light, neutral, mauvey pink.
Divine is a bright neon coral-pink, or flamingo pink.

OCC Cha Cha Lip Tar is Wearable! I wear it every day!

Hey Everyone! I wanted to do a quick post about the OCC Lip Tar in the shade Cha Cha. It is the only OCC Lip Tar I own and I've wear it probably 5 out of 7 days a week. I've seen a lot of discussions about this particular shade, and many say that it is not a "wearable" color. So, I thought I'd post a few swatches of what is wearable and what is not. If you'd like to refer back to my original review, you can click here.

This is the lip tar applied directly out of the tube. The color is extremely bright and very opaque.. and I agree to many claims that Yes, this is not very wearable. But that goes for any pigmented lip color. For instance, MAC "Myth" applied very heavily is a complete disaster.. but applied thin (or blotted), it is the perfect nude. Nude/pale and light colors shouldn't be applied heavily.

It may not look bad.. It's actually a gorgeous peachy pink. But in person, it is very opaque (you can't see my lips at all through the lip tar) and neon. It actually looks like I applied acrylic paint to my lips. You would definitely get some looks if you walked out of the house with this applied heavily (straight from the tube) on your lips.

But! Once you blot off your lips with a tissue...

You will be left with a shade much more wearable... (What a difference!)

Just add your favorite gloss on top.. (Otherwise having a very thin layer of lip tar feels very dry). I like to wear any sheer shades of pink/peach/coral.. or a glimmer gloss.

Here I have LASplash Girl Crush Lip gloss on top.

Hope this helped anyone that's unsure of this shade! :)
