NOTD: Maybelline Express Finish 50 Second Nail Color in Crimson!

I thought I would share a quick NOTD (it should really be Nails of the Week, not day.. lol). It is Maybelline Express Finish 50 Second Nail Color in the shade "Crimson". The nail color does dry quickly and you can apply a second coat within a minute. I used two coats and a top coat. So far, it has been two days and I have no chips. I used a terrible top coat though and my nails are looking a little dull today. They looked gorgeous the day I painted them. If this polish lasts for a full week I'll be sure to use it a lot through the fall and winter. :)

*Update: Terrible! Me and my mom both used this and our nails were chipping like crazy in just a day!! I won't be purchasing any express finish polishes in the future.

NOTD: Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro Posh Pink!

I had a little extra time this morning, so I thought I'd re-paint my nails. I did my nails on the way out the door yesterday and smudged every single one. It was a pretty deep red.. perfect for the fall. But I couldn't resist using this pretty pink bottle that was sitting on my aunt's bathroom counter. Maybe this will be my last pink polish before I start wearing all of the pretty fall shades. This color is actually strikingly similar to my last Sally Hansen NOTD a few posts below.

This is two coats with a clear Sally Hansen Double Duty top coat.

I'll let you know how this polish wears throughout the week. So far, I really like the consistency, opaqueness and finish. Also, the brush is thick and flatter than the traditional nail polish brush.. which covers more of your nail in once swipe. I kinda like that.

Look who was sneaking up on me...

He wasn't too interested.. LOL

*UPDATE: This nail polish lasted 2 WEEKS! Yes. TWO weeks. I will definitely be repurchasing.

NOTD: Essie Mint Candy Apple!

Two (2) coats of Essie Mint Candy Apple (No top coat)
Essie Mint Candy Apple is a polish I've wanted ever since it launched in Essie's Winter of 2009 Collection. I finally got a hold a bottle in a swap, and I really like it! I think it's a perfect color for Spring.

Mint Candy Apple is a creme formula, pastel, whitened green. The formula of this polish is great. It didn't apply streaky to my nails, it dried fairly quick and looked completely opaque with two coats.

NOTD: China Glaze For Audrey!

One (1) coat of China Glaze For Audrey (No top coat)
For Audrey is the popular Sea Green/Turquoise/Tiffany's Box Blue polish that everyone has raved about. I personally really love this polish and I think it's a great color to wear on your toes when you're sporting a tan! It is true, the color is an exact replica of the Tiffany's Box Blue.
As for the polish itself, the formula is quite thick - thicker than most polishes I own. It is opaque, but if you don't have a steady hand.. it may apply streaky. I attempted to apply this in a moving vehicle (I wasn't the one driving of course, LOL) and it was a streaky mess. I later applied it at my kitchen table and it applied much better. Two coats with this is necessary for the best outcome.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power Hard as Nails X-treme Wear Nail Color

Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power

Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power

I picked this up the other day at Target for just under $3. The color is gorgeous for the summer. I applied 2 coats and a clear top coat. The formula is very thick and creamy.. I thought it was going to take forever to dry, but It dried fairly quick. Not too crazy about the thickness, but it makes for a very opaque nail with two coats. You definitely wouldn't need three coats.. and you can maybe pull off even one. I actually took the photo today and did my nails 3 days ago.. no chips or nicks yet! Hope I didn't just jinx myself.. :)

NOTD & Review of Eyeko Nail Polishes!

From Left to Right: Vampira Polish (Black with fine red glitter), Tea Rose Polish (A true mauve) & Coral Polish (A bright coral red).

The swatches in this picture are very true to color. Especially "Tea Rose" which looks a little brighter and pink in the 1st picture.

My favorite of all three is the Coral Polish and it's what I have on my nails today!

This is 2 coats, no top or base coat.

My Overall thoughts:
From what I see so far, these polishes are great. Coral and Tea Rose both have a similar formula. They are slightly thick, very opaque & apply very well with no streaks. Two coats is more than enough. Vampira is a little bit of a different formula. It is a lot thinner, and you need around 3 coats to achieve the actual color. I would highly recommend top coats with these polishes so you don't get any nicks on your nails. With thick polishes, they sometimes tend to dry like a soft plastic and you definitely need to protect them.

Eyeko Nail Polishes are $5.50 each and can be found here!

I really like the looks of Posh (taupe), Lilac & Nude.. all pictured above. :)

Do you own any Eyeko polishes? Which are your favs?

NOTD - OPI My Private Jet!! My FAVORITE OPI Nail Polish!!!

I am in love with OPI's My Private Jet! I purchased it about two weeks ago. So far, I've had it on my toes for a little over a week and it hasn't chipped yet. That's pretty miraculous for me because my pedicures never stay in tact for long. My big toe (nails) always split.. so the color always ends up chipping off. I'm really loving the formula of this one. It's very creamy, dried quick and didn't nick. I hope I can get a full week of wear on my finger nails.

I love dark colors.. Especially grays. I've tried Black a couple of times and it just didn't warm up to me. I didn't find it at all flattering. This polish is probably the closest I can go to black. It looks like a deep gunmetal with very, very fine glitter that reflects green and gold. It looks more holographic than it looks glittery. I'm not sure if glitter is the correct word. In the sunlight, this color is soo gorgeous. I'm probably going to buy a couple of back ups of this shade.

1 Coat of Seche Clear Base Coat, 2 Coats of My Private Jet & 1 coat of Seche Vite Top Coat. Thank you guys for the suggestion of Seche Vite for a top coat.. it's the best top coat I've used. Super shiny and dries fast!

I had such nice nails until I went bowling.. Lol, I had like 4 of my nails break off.

Its not too dark, I promise.

What's on your nails?

NOTD: Orly Cotton Candy!

I saw this nail polish in LisaLisaD1's youtube video (link) on Friday and ended up purchasing it. Orly Nail Polishes are now on sale at ULTA for $4.99 (regular $7) and I believe a coupon starts today for $3.50 off your $10 purchase up that is valid till the 13th. This is a beautiful summer/spring color. It's a creamy, opaque, bright pink with a hint of coral. It's a color that would look gorgeous both on hands and toes. I think this is currently my favorite pink polish. This shade of pink is actually my favorite color (peachy pink) It's so hard to find this exact shade.. I've purchased many polishes hoping it would look like this and was left disappointed. I've been eyeballing Essie Van D'go from Essie's Spring Collection.. It looks somewhat similar to this polish but more on the peach side. Hopefully I'll be picking it up this week.

Orly Cotton Candy Nail Polish Review

Orly Cotton Candy

Orly Cotton Candy

This is two coats with no base or top coat. The finish is very shiny! But I think I will go back and add a top coat.

By the way, Does anyone know a good top coat? I don't think the ones I use work the best. My nails usually get dull in a couple of days. I was going to purchase an OPI top coat, but I wanted to do a little research first. Any suggestions would be great!

I'm in need of a cuticle cream. My cuticles are so hard and cracked. I'm planning on picking up Burt's Bee's Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and giving it a try.

NOTD: Essie Mink Muffs!

Two (2) coats of Essie Mink Muffs (No top coat)
Mink Muffs is a creamy "milk chocolate" brown. It's very similar to OPI's You Don't Know Jacques!, but it's less gray toned than You Don't Know Jacques! and slightly more brown.

It's a really lovely color and the formula is great - very creamy; not too thick, and is completely opaque with two coats. I also typically get a full weeks wear out of this polish.

NOTD: OPI You Don't Know Jacques!

Let me introduce you to my new favorite nail polish. It's very similar to "Over the Taupe" (previous NOTD post). You Don't Know Jacques! is a deep gray brown with no pearl or shimmer. Love, love, love this color. It's very pigmented and is almost completely opaque with one coat and 100% opaque with two.

This is with only one coat of You Don't Know Jacques! & no top coat.

NOTD: OPI Over the Taupe

Love this shade! Its basically a plain, creamy taupe. It's a lighter verison of "You Don't Know Jacques". It looks the best with 2 coats and a clear top coat. With one coat, it looks a little streaky.

NOTD: OPI Boris & Natasha!

One (1) coat of OPI Boris & Natsha (No top coat, which was very needed!)
I received this nail polish in a swap late last week. I really like it. With the first coat of OPI Boris
& Natasha, it looks like more of a deepened red plum. With two coats its a deep raisin. It's actually just what I've been looking for. It reminds me a bit of OPI Can you tapas this. I wish it was slightly lighter though, with two coats it is very dark.

I really have been into brown nail polishes lately. I'm waiting to receive another OPI nail polish called "Over the Taupe" I can't wait to try. :) Do you know any pretty browns? Let me know!

Nails: OPI Haul! La Paz-itively Hot, Dazzled By Gold & Purple with a Purpose!

I bought two at $8.50 each and got one free, plus used a $5 off $10 coupon. So, I paid $12 for 3 polishes! Woo! Great deal. I think it goes through till the 24th?

At my ULTA, all of the latest collections were completely sold out! I couldn't believe it. They didn't have anything from the Suede Collection, only a couple bottles from the Matte collection and absolutely nothing left from the holiday collection (except for the gold one I bought) :(

These are the polishes I got..

Right now I have on La Paz-itively Hot.. and I LOVE it. I like it so much better without a clear top coat. I applied a shiny top coat and it really altered the color. I'll know for next time. :)

With a clear top coat and Dazzled By Gold for tips!

NOTD: Sinful Colors Beautiful Girl! The perfect baby pink!

This is two (2) coats of Sinful Colors Beautiful Girl with no top coat.

The color of this polish is a bubblegum pink with a slight warm (yellow) tone that makes it very flattering on tanned skin. It's a creme formula, with no frost or shimmer. It is slightly sheer and can apply streaky with one coat, but with two coats the color is very opaque. Some may prefer to use three coats.. but I never usually do three.

I bought this nail polish at Walgreens for $1.99. I really like Sinful Colors Nail Polishes. They may not live up to OPI in staying power, but they have a very wide range of trendy colors with average lasting power. So far, I've had this on my nails for around 4 days and I love it. It's always been hard for me to find the perfect baby pink nail polish for my skin tone and this pink is actually very flattering for my skin tone because of the yellow tone it has. I don't know if this is a brand carried worldwide, but they do sell them on http://cherryculture.com.

NOTD: OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries from the España Collection!

I took a trip to ULTA yesterday and picked up "Ate Berries in the Canaries" from OPI's Espana collection. For some reason I thought OPI was buy two get one free, but it wasn't. So I only got one nail polish. :( I had a tough time choosing between Ate Berries.. or No Spain No Gain, which is a little bit of a deeper purple. Ate Berries in the Canaries is a gorgeous fuschia. Pretty much the color or Barney the Dinosaur. lol I was worried it's a little too summery, but I think it's deep enough for a fall color.

My cuticles are SO nasty!! I have to start applying Vaseline to them daily.. I wash my hands a million times a day so they are so dry and cracked. I got these little gems from Target for $1 in those dollar bins when you walk in the store. You can use them for nails or some fun looks with makeup :)

Matte Nail Polish!? NOTD w/ L.A. Girl Matte Nail Polish in Turquoise!

Whats your take on matte nail polish? I was deciding for a while whether I liked the concept or not.. considering when I polish my nails, I apply a thick clear top coat because I love my nails to look extremely shiny. Dull nails? It reminds me of when I paint my nails hot pink and it always dries matte, and you have to make sure to put a top coat. Well, I decided to jump on the matte band wagon and buy a matte nail polish. I purchased L.A. Girl Turquoise Matte Nail Polish (from forever 21)

...to match my teal boots I bought. haha!!!!

$27.80 at forever 21.

Well, I'm sold on the idea of matte nails. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. I loveee this color too. It actually lasted one full week before a nail chipped. I was pretty surprised. And I'm happy to announce I got out of my "I don't think I can pull off dark colors on my nails well" phase.. and starting wearing lots of dark colors and I'm loving them!

Do you have a favorite shade of matte nail polish to share?!

NOTD: OPI Manicurist of Seville!

I went in ULTA the other day to use my coupon and didn't see anything I wanted, so I decided to pick up a new nail polish for the fall. I was torn between tons of deep purples, blacks and blues. But those colors really don't compliment my skin. Or maybe I'm just thinking it doesn't because painting my nails that dark would go out of the norm or what I would usually wear. I'll try some daring colors soon.. But, I did pick up a gorgeous berry. I love wearing reds and burgundies in the fall and winter. This color, OPI's "Manicurist of Seville" is a very pretty deep burgundy with a hint of purple. It is the exact color of a ripened cherry or roses that ave started to wilt.

This is with one coat and clear top coat. With one coat the color will be lighter and more burgundy. With two coats, the purple will really show through and the color will be deep.

Love this! I'll be using it for a while :)

NOTD: Purple Tips with Rimmel 60 Seconds "Night Before" Nail Polish!

As my readers may have noticed, I have an obsession with purple. I think this obsession started a year ago when I purchased a couple dress tops from H&M that were purple and it complimented me really well.. and ever since then, I really liked purple clothing. As for purple eyeshadow/makeup.. that obsession started in the past 6 months maybe.. and in the past couple of months I've been on a hunt for every pretty purple eye shadow ever made. Purple is actually a color that is extremely popular right now for the fall. There will be lots of purples. I never cared for purple nail polish. Or really any dark colors. Black was the trend for nails, but I never purchased a bottle of black nail polish because I knew already It wouldn't look good on me. I love the look of midnight blues, but it just reminded me of my childhood when I would paint my nails blue and purple and funky colors. (I'm totally rambling on right now) I don't know why, it just looks so tacky on me. When I was at Target the other day and saw this purple polish by Rimmel called "Night Before" it instantly caught my eye. It is such a gorgeous deep shimmery plum. I wanted to get it, but I figured it would be a waste of money and I wouldn't use it. But, I decided to give it a try.. it was only $3 anyway.

I ended up doing purple tips :) I did it on my fingernails and toes. I love the way it turned out!

Here's everything I used:1) Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer in "Its a Sheer Thing"
2) Orly White Tip Guides (I bought at Sally's. I never use these, but I wanted it to come out perfectly.. I'm a little shaky with my left hand)
3) Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in "Night Before"
4) So Easy Stripe Rite Purple Glitter
5) So Easy Stripe Rite Silver Glitter

That's all for tonight.. good night everyone!!

And btw, 300+ followers!??? YAYY!!! Awesome! Thank you everyone for reading!
