Guest Post: Real Techniques Powder and Blush Brush!

Guest Post Written by Ashley
Today the beautiful Ashley of Lashes Anyone? shares her thoughts about some of her favorite Real Techniques makeup brushes!

Hello Beauties!

About two years ago I fell hard for the infamous Sigma brushes that had every beauty guru in beauty craze. I did adore the face brushes, until the bristles started shedding on a daily basis. I do love the Sigma eye brushes, as they have impeccable quality and have held up nicely.

I was in need of a serious powder and blush brush rescue, considering those are my primary brushes for everyday use. About a month ago, I was wandering through the lit up aisles of ULTA and came across the Real Techniques brush line created by Samantha Chapman of YouTube.

Bobbi Brown Pale Pink and Blushed Rose Pot Rouge Review, Photos and Swatches!

bobbi brown pot rouges

Bobbi Brown Pale Pink and Blushed Rose Pot Rouge

After hearing news of Bobbi Brown discontinuing their pot rouges, I'm pretty sure I spit out my coffee. Thankfully, Bobbi Brown isn't getting rid of pot rouges all together, but reformulating them. Although, I don't know what was wrong them in the first place!? I'm hoping they still hold on to some of their great shades, as well as come out with some drool-worthy new ones.

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge is a cream formula for both cheeks and lips.

There are still some sites that have some in stock online - Nordstrom has a few shades (Chocolate Cherry, Milk Chocolate and Pale Pink), Sephora still has Pale Pink in stock, and I'm sure there are many other sites that would have them if you shop around. I was always able to find pot rouges at my nearest Cosmetic Company Outlet (CCO) so I wouldn't doubt they would have some (I'd call before driving there).

I've only owned Blushed Rose, but recently got my hands on Pale Pink. Powder Pink and Stonewashed Pink were on my wishlist for a few years, but never got around to purchasing them. *Le Sigh*.

Blushed Rose is a warm brownie pink with a rose undertone. It's a very natural shade that works on a variety of skintones for that every day, natural blushed effect.
Pale Pink is a medium toned pink. I would consider it a warm pink, but it's not overly warm. It's somewhere in the middle. In comparison to Bobbi Brown's Pale Pink Powder Blush, they are very different. The powder blush is more blue based and brighter. The pot rouge is a slightly deeper pink.

Physician's Formula Natural pH Matchmaker Blush Review, Photos and Swatches!

Physician's Formula pH Matchmaker Natural Blush

Physician's Formula came out with a bunch of new products for the new year, including a whole new line called "pH Matchmaker". What is basically is, is makeup that adapts to the pH - or body chemistry of your skin. Once the makeup is applied, within one minute it will adapt to your skin. As far as I know, there are a couple of blushes, bronzers and lip glosses in the line.

Have you heard of MAC Matchmaster Foundation or Smashbox O-Gloss? Pretty much the same concept. It's basically a product that will work with your individual skin - and may or may not look the same on you as it does on your friend. It's kind of like your own "custom" match. For more information and before & after photos, check out the Physician's Formula site (here).

I wasn't too interested in trying out another bronzer or lipgloss, but I was very interested in trying out the blush. There are two shades of blush in total: Natural and Rose. Rose was actually sold out at my CVS, so I picked up Natural.

Natural is a vibrant, warm watermelon pink with a satin finish.

ADDITIONAL PRODUCT DETAILS:
-1st Ever Blush with pH Power Complex transforms into your perfectly personalized hue.
-Fluorescein Based Dye-senses the pH level of your skin & adjusts within 60 seconds to create your perfect blushing glow.
-Photochronic Powders-light adjusting pigments adapt to your environment so color looks the same indoors & outside.
