Revlon Lip Butters
I'm so excited to finally review these lip butters for you all. After seeing them featured on just about every blog known to man, I figured you all would be bored of seeing them, and neglected purchasing any. But, after finally trying them, I'm totally head-first on the lip butter bandwagon. I want more - heck, I want them all.Revlon Lip Butters are a hybrid of a creamy lip balm and a lipstick. They are super "buttery" smooth, pigmented, hydrating and pack lots of shine. Whats more to want? And you wonder why they have everyone going nuts. Plus, the packaging is pretty cute and they're affordable at around $6.
These Lip Butters are available in twenty (20) shades: Pink Truffle, Sugar Frosting, Raspberry Pie, Tutti Frutti, Brown Sugar, Peach Parfait, Candy Apple, Red Velvet, Cotton Candy, Berry Smoothie, Cupcake, Gumdrop, Creamsicle, Cherry Tart, Lollipop, Strawberry Shortcake, Sugar Plum, Sweet Tart, Creme Brulee and Fig Jam.
I own three - Strawberry Shortcake, a natural pink, Sweet Tart, a vibrant, watermelon pink and Red Velvet, a deep, vampy red.

I for one, have very dry lips, so I always have to apply a layer of lip balm before I apply my lipstick or my lips will be dried up and peely (not a good look). These actually keep my lips hydrated, which is very rare to find in any lipstick that has a good amount of pigment.
I also think the packaging is pretty nice. With drugstore products, you really don't get the luxury of aesthetically pleasing packaging, but with Revlon's sleek, quilted design featured on all of their Colorburst line, these lipsticks aren't an eyesore in your makeup bag.

I bought 'em all up after I tried one! I love gumdrop (it's like lilac pastelle gloss, if you've owned that), creme brulee (a perfect beigey-nude), and cherry tart (a popsicle-like, slightly sheer, brighter red than red velvet)
ReplyDeleteYay, you named 2 out of the 3 I own, lol. Except instead of cherry tart, I have pink truffle. I want more, but I must resist.
Deletethese look gorgeous! really want to try some!xx

I feel like the odd one out... i've read so many rave reviews but still I just can't bring myself to spend my money on one... Revlon and I just don't get along :)
ReplyDeleteYou should try Tutti Frutti, it's an amazing orange that's perfect for Spring/Summer, but not over the top. So sad we don't have Red Velvet in the UK. xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picks! I love the Revlon Lip Butters. Just wish they were less expensive in Canada (they rarely EVER go on sale and currently retail for roughly $11/each).
ReplyDeleteI love these...peach parfait and strawberry shortcake are probably my top favorites.
ReplyDeleteOoo I want them all too!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I'll have to wait (who knows how long) for these! But I can't wait to get my hands on them!
XO
I have Sugar Frosting, and I love it :) I need to get a few more.
ReplyDeleteI nominated you for a Versatile Beauty Blogger award on my blog =)

May I ask what kind of camera you ended up getting? Your pictures are very vibrant!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tried these! For the longest time they were always sold out, so I did figure they must be amazing! lol
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous shades! I need to go back and buy Red Velvet! You take amazing pics!
ReplyDeleteI love my Lip butters! My favorite is Sweet Tart! I think after seeing it on you I really want red Velvet!
ReplyDeleteIts fun seeing which lip butters are the favorites! lol. I bought a couple, strawberry shortcake which is super fun color and pink truffle. I love wearing that one to work or when I want to look a little more natural. The formulas are lovely, excellent everyday lipsticks :)
ReplyDeleteI own three... Creme Brulee (My FAVE... Need a backup!), Lollipop, and Cupcake. I don't know how anyone can hate them! I want them all!! lol

Wow! These sound really good :D xx
ReplyDeleteI've tried these (Tutti Frutti and Candy Apple) but they were terribly unpigmented and short-wearing on me. I gave them away and will just admire them for afar from now on.
ReplyDeleteI just got Creamsicle without first reading reviews. Bad idea. It's really milky (and not in a good way) and emphasizes all dry spots. Looks kinda gross. :(
ReplyDeleteAt first I didn't like the Lip Butters and I think it was because I had expectations of them being like a lipstick. But I gave them another shot because a lot of customers at my work (Ulta) buy them. This time, I got Pink Truffle and Fig Jam. Pink Truffle is definitely my favorite and "go-to" color because it goes great with everything! And it's also a perfect work color too :) I've definitely changed my opinion about them and plan on getting more.
