Here's the look we're going to achieve...
I wanted to do this really simple, but really pretty tutorial today using only one eyeshadow and a few basic tools. You can do the same look using any color you want - it definitely doesn't have to be the same color I chose and you can make any substitutions you'd like!
Products Used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion *not pictured (used in step 1)
MAC 'Bronze' Eyeshadow (used in step 6 and 8)
MAC 'Feline' Kohl Eye Pencil (used in step 2 and 4)
Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes Mascara (used in step 10)
Brushes/Tools Used:
Sponge applicator (to pack on the color, used in step 6)
Precision Tip Cotton Swabs (for smudging the eye liner, you can use any brush or pointed sponge applicator if you'd like - used in step 3 and 5)
Sigma Small Angle Brush (used in step 8)
Coastal Scents Tapered Blending Brush (used in step 7)

In Which We Start Anew
Wow this is gorgeous! I might try this with "Smog" from Urban Decay :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Try it! I love Smog, I bet it'd look amazing on you.
DeleteSo pretty! I did a similar look today. I used Maybelline's Bad to the Bronze (MAC paint pot dupe) and a shimmery dark brown eyeshadow for liner from the nude palette from Physician's Formula.
ReplyDeleteOoh, sounds pretty! I actually have Bad to the Bronze, but have been neglecting it for some time now. I think I have to pull it out and start using it again!
DeleteYou are gorgeous! I didn't even recognize you, did you change something? Maybe your hair color?
ReplyDeleteAw thank you! My hair color is awful right now! It's a very ashy brown - not flattering at all. I'm going to dye it this week. :)
DeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm all about simple eye looks, so this is great!
ReplyDeletexx Louise
I love Bronze eyeshadow. It's one of my favourite shades!
ReplyDeleteMe too. :)
DeleteI will try this except with the black eyeliner on top of the brown shadow on the eyelid :)
ReplyDeletesame girl friend!
DeleteI love just using one shadow. My favourites to use are MAC Sable or Twinks! :)
ReplyDeleteMaria xxx
I don't have either! I'll have to check those out. :)
DeleteThis is a gorgeous eye look! That bronze eye shadow brings out your eye color. I also find it very easy to follow this pic tutorial! ^_~
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI always reach for warm browns, bronze and gold shades. They're my favorite ^_^ I'm happy you find it easy to follow. Thanks so much for the feedback!
This is so simple, but so gorgeous! The copper shade really compliments your eyes! Love it!!

gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour eyes look lovely! Love the tutorial!

Your skin and eyebrows look amazing. Have you done anything in particular for your eyebrows to grow? x
ReplyDeleteThank you! My natural eyebrows are very thick and coarse, but from overplucking, they have been thin for years. I started using Castor Oil at night as a treatment, and they grew back completely in a little over a month. Highly recommend trying it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how this look is dark but not too dark. I like the idea of covering the eyeliner, I never thought to do that but now I will give it a try! :D
ReplyDelete101FashionStreet.com
Yes! You can add the black on top if you want it to be darker, but I like adding it as a base to create a shadow so it's not as one dimensional. It gives off the illusion of using more than one shadow, and because it's slightly darker, you really don't need liner on top.
Delete:)
Natalie!! I love your tutorials!! Simple quick and PRETTY! Keep'em coming PLEASE!! ;-) Going to try this look! Thanks -Leslie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Leslie!! I will keep them coming ;)
DeleteBeautiful! Love it!

Deletethis is literally how ive been doing my makeup for the past two months lol. love the bronze! i usually use a taupe (UD toasted) or if i do use a brown i use mulch
ReplyDeleteHaha! It's so easy! I think I'll try Toasted. I rarely ever use my UD Naked Palette. It needs some lovin. lol I have Mulch on my wishlist - it seems like a color I could get a lot of use from.
DeleteYour blog posts are ridiculous now! I love that you spend so much time on your posts. I appreciate all your hard work.
ReplyDeleteLoved this post! Gorgeous, gorgeous!!
Thank you Jess! I really appreciate it! Unless you're a blogger, you really don't understand how much work tutorials are. It was fun to do though, and I'm excited to start doing more on the regular.

ReplyDeleteldmatson.blogspot.ca
Right!? Most of the time I only use one. If I have extra time, maybe I'll use 2-3. But my daily looks are usually very simple.

ReplyDeleteLOOOVE IT!!! Im going to try this :)
ReplyDeleteI love it, a very easy tutorial, since I just stumbled here I haven't browse the topics yet and just click on the recommended ones, but I really really love it :) Oh! is there a tutorial on how to apply blush? I hope to learn more from you, and I'll definitely try this, though Im not sure if I can get the same results, whew, time for practice :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much I've been trying to find a new eye shadow look for a while and I found this and gave it a try and I absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteHey, I dont have much make but I still found a way to do this! Unfortunately I don't have Bronze eyeshadow so if you're like me just mix White, Brown, Light gold, Gold, And dark gold. It really worked! And I was very happy to know that you do not need eyeliner! I ALWAYS mess eyeliner up! THANKs soooo much!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and I must say that I absolutely love this look. I will definitely be trying it in the future. Thanks for inspiring me. :)
Hmm. Just stumbled on this. It's high time I gave my poor old gel eyeliner pencil a workout as I'm a fluidline fanatic & haven't gone without winged eyeliner for years.
ReplyDeleteYour use of bronze is probably the smartest choice... but I might try one of pinker frosts. The beauty part is that, if I chicken out & can't face going outside without visible eyeliner, I can always whip some on.
Fabulous idea making use of the different tones in a favourite frosted eyeshadow! Cheers for the tutorial!
This is one of my favorite looks to do... I'm going to try it using the liner first. Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteEyeshadow Addicts Anonymous
Your eyes are gorgeous!! I've got to try the liner first, I usually wear liner on the top... excited to try it, hopefully I dont feel to naked without it ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are not accurate in your description of your technique. You tightlined the bottom lid between steps 8 and 9 which changed the look a lot.I think you should add that step in or explain how to do that in step 4 because that is definitely something I need to work on. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou have very thick eye lashes! They were perfect and it look very lovely!! Thanks for this tips!
